My first write up

Fashion:

I find myself so intrigued by how much fashion has changed and evolved. It has so many new iterations in modern society. Everyone’s on this fashion hype from royals and politicians to rappers and rock stars to normal rich kids, everyone wants to be in this fashion shit and setting trends. As I scroll through my tumblr dashboard which is filled with copious T & A (not complaining). I always notice the awesome and often outlandish fashion trends and memes of the moment. I guess because we’re in the digital age and everything’s so visible and everyone has their lives in pictures, everyone wants to look good and be ahead in the fashion game. I still remember the dark days when dudes were rocking baggie jeans with oversized t shirts and jerseys coupled with multi colored timberland boots (timbs as we call them) and air force ones (screw it air force ones were the shit and still are) kai the horror. Growing up in Lagos Nigeria that was the norm I still look back at my high school photos and cringe but I did have an epic pair of air force ones though. Now we live in an era where more men are fashion conscious, the age of slimmer fittings and loafers and velvet slippers, the age of the modern gentlemen some may say. In this era I see one man always staying ahead of the curb, Kanye West. Love him or hate him, the dude is a genius both in music and in fashion, I mean who else could make leather kilts cool for men?(thank GOD that’s dead now). He was one of the pioneers of this rap and fashion crusade. His collaborations with Louis vuitton and Nike sent dudes into a frenzy. Everyone wanted Louis vuitton dons or the air yeezys (still hoping to get a pair myself, sigh). He’s always been a visionary in the rap game and that’s transcended into fashion. Oh I forgot to add his leather pants craze I don’t know how he made that cool but he pulled it off and his often simplistic and sometimes all black style has been copied by so many dudes. I think he introduced black men to Givenchy. I also remember his GOOD music cipher with him and his crew all decked in crisp suits (even pusha T) calling it the rosewood movement. Mr. West has always been the ultimate trend setter for men my mind goes back to the lined shades he had for the stronger video during his graduation era those things were so popular. Also in those days the desert scarfs from the cant tell me nothing video and the Lego heart broche from the heartbreak days. All in all, Mr. West has always been a trend setter in the game, I consider him one of the greatest producers in hip hop alongside timbaland, dr dre, pharrel. He is a true creative powerhouse and this shows in everything he does including fashion and that is something I want to emulate so ride on Mr West keep setting them trends.
